- 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 5 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 Cup of Milk (Whole Milk/Cereal Milk or Evaporated Milk)
- 3/4 Cup of Butter
- 1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
Procedure:
- Grease baking sheet and dust LIGHTLY with flour - set aside.
- Position rack in the center and preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, butter, nutmeg, salt, and baking powder until you get a rough-like texture.
- In a separate bowl, lightly mix the milk and egg.
- Lightly stir the milk and egg mixture in the large bowl until well combined.
- Sprinkle a surface with flour, turn out dough, and knead the dough lightly!
- Cut the dough about 1/2 inch thick according to your size preference and place them on the baking sheet.
- Beat the egg lightly and coat each dough piece with the egg mixture.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until done.
- Leave to cool in the baking sheet for about 10-15 minutes then remove.
- Serve with hot chocolate, ice cream, or Malta Goya.
- If you would like a more smooth texture, sprinkle a surface with flour and knead the dough LIGHTLY!
