Meat Pie - 1

Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp of baking powder
  • 1/4 of Salt
  • 1/2 Nutmeg
  • 15 oz of butter
  • 1 large egg 
  • 4 Tsp of Cold Water
  • 1 Medium Size Onion
  • 1/2 - 1 Tsp of Black Pepper (Based on your preference)
  • 1 Tsp of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Can of Corned Beef
  • Baking Sheet
Procedure:
  1. Place a rack in the center of the even and preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. 
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg and butter until completely mixed (Use your hands for the right texture).
  3. Mix salt and water separately and gradually add to the dry mixture.
  4. Carefully knead dough until well mixed
  5. Cut dough into three or four parts.
  6. Roll out the dough until you have a 1/8-1/4 of an inch thickness.
  7. Then cut out your dough to your desired shape. (Circles preferable)
Stuffing:
  1. In a frying pan, add the oil and set your heat to low
  2. Chop the onion into bite size cubes.
  3. Add the onions, corned beef, and the black pepper and stir for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat and allow it to cool completely. 
Stuffing the Pie:
  1. Beat the egg lightly and set aside.
  2. Take a piece of the already cut dough and add about 1 tsp of the stuffing on one side.
  3. Fold the other side over and using a fork, press down the folded edge of the pie.
  4. Repeat this step with the other cut pieces and place them on the baking sheet.
  5. Brush the top of the pie with the beaten egg.
  6. Bake pie for 20-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Serve with Malta Goya, Hot Chocolate, Tea, or beverage of your choice.
